Ben, properly known as Benjamin[18] and also known as Talking Ben, is one of the main characters of the Talking Tom & Friends franchise.
Recognized as a genius, Ben is known for his sharp intellect and ability to understand science with ease. Due to his intellect, he is often referred to as a nerd by his friends.
Appearance
Ben generally appears as an overweight fawn[12] 22 year old[1] (43 in Talking Friends[2]) dog, specifically a Canis fabulatus,[6] with brown eyes, a large snout with a black (sometimes brown) nose, two large floppy ears, a small stub for a tail, two small legs with three toes, and four fingers on each hand. In 2D media, Ben is often given eyebrows as well, likely to help him express emotion due to limitations in 2D animation.

Like most non-human characters in the series, Ben did not wear clothes in the first three seasons. In Season 4 onwards, he now wears a white checked polo t-shirt with blue and red lines on it, dark green trousers and blue sneakers.
Starting from "Waitress Angela", he gains a third outfit, which is used interchangeably with his Season 4 outfit. In this outfit, he wears a green collared shirt with a purple necktie.

Personality
Ben is a well-skilled mathematician and also a computer programmer. He is also a scientist and an inventor. However, Ben mostly gets upset when someone touches or breaks his inventions or things, and he often shouts, freaks out, or gets angry; but is still kind and friendly to his friends. He likes to think quick and solve problems, using his own interests to his advantage. He is helpful, he wants to help the world improve, and likes to work, even when overworking himself at times, he doesn't like getting pulled away from it. He tries to focus and not goof off.
Ben is very honest, genius, friendly and a little bit easygoing sometimes. He is heroic, selfless, and tries his best to invent any gadget for good. Most of the people are fond of his smart activities. He can be cordial to his best friend, as well as to the people who really love him. He tries to avoid his enemies to make the situation peaceful.
In the apps, Talking Tom and Ben News and Talking Tom Cat 2, Ben is mischievous, cunning, cruel and mean towards Tom and often annoys and bullies him, due to him being a grumpy, old person, but in the television series, he is friendly, kind-hearted and has a much nicer behavior towards Tom. Ben is a chemist in Talking Friends and does not seem to have any relation to computing in the original series. However, in Talking Tom and Friends, he is still skilled in mathematics but is also a computer programmer. He also reacts quite rashly when someone damages his things, but is quite friendly. He and Tom are the founder of Tom and Ben Enterprises.

Tom is Ben's best friend. The two have known since their childhood, and have an immense, yet imperfect, friendship with one another. While they two have been known to argue, with Ben even resulting to violence in the pilot, and even break apart or leave one another, the two always get back together in the end.
Xenon:
Xenon is Ben's girlfriend. The two have been in a relationship since the events of "Love Formula", and Ben has intentions of keeping Xenon pleased with him or making their relationship seem better, whether that be learning to drive to impress her, or cheating the results of a competition to make the two seem happier and better together.
During Xenon's "betrayal", Ben was left incredibly upset. Xenon's true intentions of helping the gang were later revealed to him, and the two had made up since then.

When he is not busy with the rest of the gang, Talking Ben loves to spend his time in his laboratory where he is constantly improving on his chemistry knowledge. In the old fashioned sense - he collects comic books, vintage cars, and vinyl records. He reads all those smart books. His other love is cooking. He is the master chef, yummy... Sometimes he is a bit grumpy but I know he is really kind hearted and caring.

I’m Ben. I’m a genius. Blunt, yes, but true! I do have hidden depths though. I’m a very funny guy, for example. Although, to be fair, I haven’t actually received external confirmation of that yet… So it’s just a hypothesis at the moment. But still! Funny AND smart.
My inventions are going to put our app studio on the map! Well, the ones that don’t explode that is… But that only happened once… (Or twice.) Inventing is easy as pie for me. It’s as easy as breathing. What’s hard is getting Tom to clean up after himself. Or say thank you every now and again! I’m working on it though. It’s my greatest challenge yet!
